Welcome to the official website of 1WAVE DJS®

As the founder, I wanted to extend to you a warm welcome, and offer the opportunity to experience a premium DJ service that focuses on keeping the Bride, Groom, and Family happy on the dance floor.

I have been playing music for fun on the piano, guitar and recorder since I was very young. At 10 years old I started taking private lessons from Joe Sirian in Westland for snare drums and practiced my rudiments, my music teacher Mr. Freeborn required it for band class. From there I was stuck in a practice room with a pad and a metronome. Then I had Bruce, he was partially blind, but had all of the rhythms memorized from sheets of paper, so would call out a page and number, and then I would have to nail that beat, he was a pretty sick percussionist on the set. I kept practicing until one day I was playing a full drumset 3 hours a day in my garage. I used to jam with my friends, have them come over and bring their guitar amps and record our music. I started recording with cassette tapes.

Eventually I left Michigan and served in the US Navy as a rescue swimmer and operations specialist, honorably discharged in the late 2000s. During this time I was able to produce a cover band I called Secret of the Ooze and play in Sasebo, Japan.

After I served my country, I attended Mesa Community College for Audio Production Technologies under Andy Seagle. I was able to record there and the Conservatory of Recording Arts (CRAS) with my metal band Kin of the Zen using SSL consoles and high end microphones like the Neumann U87 modeled after the famous U47 used by Frank Sinatra. I performed in many venues around Phoenix until I left back for Michigan in 2015.

I came back here and worked as a lighting and audio production tech during the summer for Interlochen Center for the Arts, and started with a band called Kronie. I helped write and rewrite an 11 song album which was released also on CD in 2021. We performed in Traverse City and the surrounding area writing original music.

I played in many projects but when I started my company, I wanted to make sure in succeeded. I went with my grandpas old motto, "if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself" Now this is what I do full time, and produce beats for your enjoyment!

These simple mantras, among other little sayings like "attention to detail" and "the customer is always right" is what sets our business apart from being just another DJ.

When you hire 1Wave DJs, you are getting more than just a name, you are getting a lifetime of practicing being in the moment, and we want your wedding day to be one that you remember for the rest of your life.
